The Opportunity:
We're seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive our expansion across East Africa. You'll be at the forefront of identifying new markets, forging strategic partnerships, and closing deals that bring our transformative learning solutions to thousands of new users. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about using technology to solve Africa's education challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Expansion (40%)
Identify and prioritize new business opportunities in corporate, education, and government sectors
Develop and execute territory growth strategies for Uganda and neighboring markets
Conduct market research to understand sector-specific learning needs and trends
Revenue Generation (30%)
Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation to closure
Achieve and exceed quarterly sales targets for LMS implementations and course subscriptions
Structure creative commercial models tailored to institutional budgets
Partnership Development (20%)
Establish partnerships with educational institutions, training providers, and technology partners
Collaborate with global content providers to localize offerings for African markets
Represent iLearnAfrica at industry events and conferences
Strategic Initiatives (10%)
Provide market intelligence to guide product development decisions
Pilot innovative distribution models for rural and low-bandwidth areas
Develop case studies and success stories from key accounts
Ideal Candidate Profile:
5+ years in B2B sales/business development, preferably in edtech, SaaS, or corporate training
Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets (experience in education sector a plus)
Strong network within Uganda's corporate training/HR or education sectors
Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
Tech-savvy with understanding of LMS or e-learning platforms
Passion for education and African development
